I'm thinking of shopping for a new cellphone service provider, getting a new phone, etc.
Which do you guys think is the best service provider out there?

I'd say if ur in germany then T Mobile is the best. I use o2 , the service and reception is not good but the reason I am using it is that there are some loopholes that can be taken advantage of.
Never go for a Vodafone ( atleast in germany )

In the past 10 years I have tried all the major ones and I am currently using Cingular and very happy with it. Signal strength where I live and work is most important to me, and they have it all over Verizon who was so bad that I had to go outside my house to use my cell phone.

So I guess that "Can you hear me now? Good." guy was slacking off a bit, eh?
I had Amena, which is now called Orange. I didn't realize that the company was going to change when I started shopping around... maybe I'll stick with it awhile and see if there's an improvement.
Anybody have Orange? How's it so far?

If you're in the UK then probably vodaphone is the best. But I get the idea you're in the US...so...

I had T-Mobile, and thought there were okay until they started ripping me off (repeatedly). I had quite a few dropped calls, too. I switch to Verizon a few months ago, and get great service in my location.
When I was in Guatemala, I used Movistar, which worked surprisingly well for calling back home.

So basically, everybody is good, and everybody sucks.
Why am I not surprised? :p

Karenlyn,
That pretty much sums it up. They all seem to end up doing something wrong eventually, so you just move along to the next one.

A lot of it depends on location, also. It just so happens that Verizon gives the best coverage for the area I live in, and that most of my friends have it too. Lots of free calls there, haha.
