There are flaws in new Internet Explorer. Now there are options available with users. They can choose other browsers also like Firefox or Opera. Both are very good. For normal users there are not much difference between Opera and Firefox. So you can choose any one of them for safe browsing. Please also check the reviews.

I have both Firefox and IE in my systems, except for when I am running Linux, I can only have IE (though I could use something like Wine to run IE).

IE in Windows is primarily used to keep my Windows system up-to-date with the latest patch provided by Microsoft. Meanwhile, Firefox is used mainly for browsinng around. They are "safer" to use, because they are not integrated into the core of the operating system. If anything goes really wrong with the browser, I can just uninstall that and install a fresh copy. If you try to do that with IE, chances are you are going to corrupt your Windows core as well. So, it's not a good idea, in fact to use IE all the time, especially venturing on unknown (unauthorised) sites.

I agree with you Keith regarding uninstalling of IE. I learned it the hard way. One when I removed IE I faced a lot of problems with my windows. Actually IE is integrated into windows. But browsers like Firefox, Opera are not integrated into the system. So for browsing either Firefox or Opera can be used. I must say here that I have countered some sites which do not accept Opera.

I use Firefox for 99% of my browsing and I love it. Have jsut upgraded to version 2 and they have basically just made better what was already there. But there is a bug still in it which is left over from version 1.5.
Its not just MS that can let things slip through...

I am tied to using MSIE for work - the page will not accept any other browser that I've tried. While it's not too big of a problem, I did run into some issues on one machine using MSIE7. It would just crash and I had to downgrade at once. I much prefer firefox for all my other browsing needs however
