Will you be upgrading to Vista?

Personally, nothing in Vista is that appealing to me. Sure, it looks a lot prettier and is a bit more secure, but I'm just fine with XP.

Eventually, as in the next PC I own, will have Vista, but I won't run out to upgrade.

Not when I am so satisified with Windows XP. It will probably take me a while to familiarise with Vista, with all those "unnecessary" functionalities.

Otherwise, XP keeps me happy (lower resources)

I'm happy with XP too. Vista is pretty but will only use it once they've sorted out the memory guzzeling problem.

Only when the price becomes reasonable for me to run it on 3 machines in my house (1 main, 1 laptop and 1 basement for 10 hours per year) or stuff requires DX10.

Until then, IMO, Vista has been so feature-reduced (WinFS for example) that it's just XP with a fancy GUI. I won't pay $200 for a pretty GUI on top of the same OS with the same bugs, security holes, etc. that I've currently got.

If MS offered a "home 5 pack" like Apple does with OS X where I could get 5 machines in my personal use registered for $200 *TOTAL*, I'd do that. For one machine? Hell no.

Yeah, I'm happy with XP myself and won't do an upgrade for awhile. I had the chance to test out Beta 2, and then recently RC1. It's nice (cosmetically), but that's just about it. The major changes I noticed are on a larger enterprise level, but at a home level I can do without all the fancy schmancy hooyahs...

Not to mention you'll have to be well above the minnimum system requirements to use all the features. The minimum requirements gets you just that - minimum usage.

Like others have said, right now Windows XP can handle my needs and I'm also happy with it. Also, I don't think my machine can handle Vista very well, so... maybe I will upgrade in the future but not now.

I'll probably upgrade to Vista after it's first Service pack. I've got access to an MSDN subscription so I wouldn't have to pay :).
