I have this problem where I often tend to buy gadgets and electronic items, and then I never use them. I have so many items that are just lying around the house doing nothing, because once the initial thrill wore off, I got bored of them. Quite often, I never get around to buying the second set of batteries. Once the first set of batteries runs out, I'm not interested enough to put new batteries in. Anyone else have this problem?

sounds like a lovely problem! can i send you my postal address if you not interested in any of them anymore? :) Only kidding, give the stuff to charity or sell it on e-bay.

I don't have this problem any more. I used to have it a bit, as I was a compulsive buyer and would buy stuff and regret it the next day and never use it.

However my father is very bad at this. In the last few years I have bought him probably 10 different gadgets, from an mp3 player, to a photo printer, to a scanner and other devices. He does not use them. I told him after the latest one that it is a waste of time buying him stuff because he never uses it, even if he says he wants it.

All of a sudden he is always using his mp3 player.

I always try to make use out of gadgets I don't use. I always feel bad when I buy something and never use it too. Somehow it always gets to me, maybe because I realize I just spent money I could have saved :(.

I am guilty for leaving a pair of gaming headphones w microphone gathering dust for quite some time now. Oh yeah, my DS Lite also hardly gets any love these days, but my girlfriend gets my Animal Crossing time done for me daily :)

I think the biggest thing is to make sure that you are buying gadgets (http://www.gadgeta.net)that are actually useful. If it doesn't solve a problem or make your life easier, safer, less time consuming, etc., then you're not going to use it for long.

I looking on the market for a Credit Card sized digital camera. My main use for it is when I go out meaning I will mostily be using it in dark places, E.g. Pubs, Clubs. Does anyone have any suggestions on a camera I can get that will take fairly descent photos? Also, If a camera does not take quality photos can it be edited in Photoshop or other program to make the images better quality?

I don't have this problem. As I will share to use some gadgets with my brother or ask friends whether they are interested in.

I bought an o2 wireless broadband dongle a couple of months ago, because I was going to be away from home for a few days and needed to be able to work on my laptop on the train etc. I thought I would get loads of use out of it, but it's not been out of the box since that weekend :(

The gadget itself was free, but I'm paying £19.99 a month line rental on it for 18 months... gutted! Guess I need to get out more! ;)

From the other GadgetGirl - sorry to the original Gadget Girl for inadvertantly hijacking your user name :S

I've got gadget-itis too, hence my finding this forum. I usually end up making good use of most of them, but my latest waste of money is my smartphone. I thought all the features were really neat for the first month or so but now I don't use any of them, and I'm finding that the thing is too bulky, and I want to switch to a regular sized phone.

stop buying until you learn marketing whether online or offline. once you are able to sell your unused gadget then you can start buying again. enjoyed when it is still hot and new. sell when you get bored with it.

The thing I find I'm always using is my NeoCube. It's awesome because it fits in my pocket so I'll always have entertainment.

How about giving them away. I could use some. LOL. Just kidding. You can also sell them on ebay or you can raffle them off to your family or friends.

Why don't you post a free classified ad somewhere, and offer to trade something you don't use for something you want?
