Electronic solution for NOT forgetting my wallet and key

When you forget to bring your wallet or office keys so many times and constantly on the verge of bursting out, t's not funny anymore. I'm tired of it.

What I need is some sort of key locator, but instead of pressing a button to locate, i need alert whenever I forget to bring my wallet or keys.

I've seen loc8or somewhere on this forum, but it's bulky receiver and too expensive of a price is not what i looking for. Can you guys point me in right direction ?

Yep. I need gadget that warn me before I lost my wallet though. Two times already i left my wallet at local supermarket. And the last time it happens, it gone for good.

Reading RFID chips is fairly simple, we produce passport readers were I work (but not for long :)) though all the encryption can be a bit complicated. I don't think the range is great but it may be possible to have a reciever on every external door frame which would set off an alarm if a chip wasn't detected. You'd also need some sort of detection device to know when you where leaving the house (infra red beam springs to mind), then you'd just need to attach a chip to the gadgets you want to monitor.

I reckon this could be a commerically viable product if you could do it cheaply enough. The main problem and cost would be in the receivers and probably the need of a PC connection.

I'd like to see a braclet that detects where your wallet and keys are. If they are not within a certain distance from the braclet (e.g. 30cm) when passing a certain point (e.g. a meter from the door) then it beeps. Maybe you could even make it into a charm braclet for women... a charm reprsenting each item that flashes when you forget that item.

That's a cool idea, bringing the charm braclet up to date with mobile phones, iPods, keys, etc.

I think it already implemented in many stores, to prevent shoplifting.

How to make it portable is the issue. The link Al provided (loc8tor) is exactly what i need, if only the size and prize are down quite a lot :P

Maybe, I've only ever driven them from a PC using a bloated SDK. The RFID reader itself is very small but you would need some logic to make the device function correctly.

Here is the valuable info about it:

The only problem I'd have with the "body guard" is this: "You can setup a maximum distance like 30 or 100 feet and..." 30 feet from my front door means that I'm already in my car and driving away.

Park your car a bit farther :P

I think such a device would incorporate some sort of adjuster so you can set your own safe distance zone.
