Camino is fine.
I mostly use either Firefox or Opera...
Sometimes I use IE but that's because some websites don't let me use Opera or Firefox...

I use FF and IE, I do prefer FF but it does get memory hungry some what at times. The attached graph show browser percentages for the past week on the main site.

Eww, IE.

I use Firefox, and right now I'm running the 2.0 beta. Built in spell checking rocks, although it thinks Firefox isn't a word. :p

Right now i'm using Safari on my mac G4(massively old)

Isn't Safari just like Firefox? Just for Macs though?

Johan
08-19-2006, 01:45 AM
No. Safari is developed by Apple, not by Mozilla. Completely different. Camino and FireFox are the same engine and the same developers.

08-19-2006, 01:46 AM
I meant that aren't the features kind of the same?

Johan
08-19-2006, 01:48 AM
I don't think so. What stand out for FireFox is all the extensions by so many different people. That really makes it unique. Safari isn't quite as extensible like that. But all modern browsers have the same basic feature set really, especially now IE is doing tabbed browsing.

one of those firefox lover is me just only for the extentions and multi tabs , heard that IE7 also has Multi tabs with phishing check options.

Have you tried out the beta version of Firefox, amitpatel? I love the idea of them finally adding the feature to recover closed tabs.

I use Safari on my Macs.

I don't surf on my Windows laptop.

On my Treo, I use Blazer, Opera Mini, and Xiino.

I play around with FF, Camino and Shiira, but until one of those three supports OS X's built in spell checker, I'll stick with Safari, even though it's a definite number four on the list.

Any of you mac users out there, if you haven't, give a look at Shiira. It's still in beta, but so far I'm really enjoying it. Can't wait to see the final implementation.

I prefer Firefox, and am using it right now.

I use Avant (a tabbed IE-based browser) for some things. There are some chatrooms where it has worked best for me when I want to open URLs posted in the chat.

Camino has spell checking since I updated it last week. I wasn't sure whether it's a VB thing at first but now you mention it, I think it's Camino.

I don't think they will ever disown IE.. Since it's the only browser in Windows..

Opera 9.01 (atleast my phpinfo() pages say so). I've been having some problem with Gmail chat though (fixed them when i set opera to "mask as mozilla" for gmail). There is also the ability to continue your browsing from the last time if opera crashes (saves session automaticaly). And of course, the widgets are nice - my current list includes mass validator (checks a few sites at once with W3), Gtranslate, encoders-decoders, Google pagerank, programmers converter and help, and a few that just save me time. And on top of it - opera is the safest and the most stable.

Heh...one of the reasons why i switched to opera from ff was that ff crashed after my sister started using it. So now i'm using opera 9.01, and she opera 8.52 i think. The security and reliability of opera helped to keep it working for half a year now (well, the toolbars are not as i left them, but it's impressive)

Sorry, forgot to explain. By crash i mean that it just worked slower and slower, and one day failed to start at all. (That's my sister (so not proud))

My browser has got to be Firefox 2.0 Beta.

However, IE still resides within my Windows system, since I will run Microsoft Update every now and then.

I do need IE to check my websites design, all the testing for IE users but not for anything else. :)

I use Firefox 1.5 - tried the upgrade to Beta 2.0 and it crashed bad - had to use goback to fix it- and then I could no longer use bookmarks- every time I tried it would corrupt firefox (and yes I tried uninstalling, reinstalling - running a virus scan, running a spyware scan) - so I just left it at 1.5 and I use backflip and kaboodle for my bookmarks. I also can't get into a lot of chat sites with firefox - like the one I'm a staff member of - so for that I use IE -

I may check out some of the ones mentioned here

I use IE, mainly because it's what I'm comfortable with. Everything else I've tried (including Netscape, Firefox, AOL) just wasn't for me. Its not the best, but it's good enough for me. :P
