Well, after weeks of waiting, yesterday afternoon it arrived. I mean the MP sunglasses that i've won in gadget giveaway. I've taken some photos to share with you all.:D

The packet:
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a228/clvezlys/P1010110.jpg
Notice how Al managed to write Lithuanian letters like ū, ž and ų. (Al, i'm not Blidūdžius)

Unpacking:
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a228/clvezlys/P1010111.jpg
Huh? What the...????

The content inside the box:
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a228/clvezlys/P1010112.jpg
Notice that bubblewrap takes a lot more space than the box itself. Well, when Al sends prizes, he doesn't mess around. (btw, Al, my mother said thanks for the bubblewrap - for some reason she likes poping those little bubbles, and you sent 14 double sided sheets of it:) )

The actual box:
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a228/clvezlys/P1010113.jpg
Looks nice. And the box is very reusable - opens and closes using magtnets to hold.

The contents:
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a228/clvezlys/P1010114.jpg
The contents: manual, miniCD with drivers (for older OSs', WinXP loaded the goggles immediatly), the sunglasses, a usb cable, car adapter and a socket adapter (i think this one was designed for britain. oh well, i know where to buy enhancem, ent for it so i could plug it into wall sockets here aswell).

After charging the sunglasses and learning how to operate them with 3 buttons (took some practice), i was listening to the great Freddie singing "Who wants to live forever". The lenses are quite good - not polaroid quality, but good nevertheless, and they are supposed to protect from UV aswell. And the glasses look just like normal sunglasses - stylish, and noone could ever tell it has something (like 512 MB memory) built in it.

Sorry if this was too long. I'm just happy. Thanks Al.

UPDATE: the sunglasses stopped working i.e. this morning i picked them up, and couldn't turn them on. My PC doesn't find it when i plug it in USB socket, and the small red LED in the goggles doesn't light up. Gonna write to brando as soon as AL writes back to me.

They stopped working? They look so cool what a great idea lol. I guess its not perfected yet though. I would love to be able to add a mp3 feature to other things. Maybe a chip in my earring that could turn on lol.

i think it's something like a busted diode. i've found people who should be able to check, so i'll probably ask their help instead of contacting brando

to palefrost: apart from the frames beeing hard and uncomfortable (big head), and the earphones hardly reaching my earholes (big head again), yeah, they do look very stylish. And the sound quality is superb.

I think this is a very good concept. Let us know if you get them working again. I have a friend that spends a lot of time at the beach that I think would enjoy a pair of these.

FINAL UPDATE:
It's been over a month now. I finally got round to asking my dad to have his friend check it. The first thing my dad did was read the manual, and then he decided to plug it in a USB socket (just to make sure). And suddenly the red light started shining. I had forgoten a bit how to turn them on, so i had some problem fiddling with it. After i relearned everything, they were working perfectly.

I tried to connect them to my PC, blow away the dust, force the PC to find the glassses etc. I also spent 1,5+ hour researching if any other owner had any problems. Nothing - the only problem involved glasses of other vendors, not brando. And, after all that, they start working only because my dad plugs them in the USB socket.

I'm still thinking whether i should be happy or offended...;)

I think I would wait until they perfect them before I would I would think about buying them. I would hate to waste my money on something that is not yet quite right.

I have the same problem with two pair of glasses, unfortunatly they have not started working again.
I have tried everything I can Imagine and nothing seems to work.
The light stays green most of the time. Computer never sees it anymore.
Are your glasses still working?

Thats pretty cool - is there any way to change the memory - you could have a handfull of micro SDs with all your songs in your pocket to take to the beach :p

I Think I inadvenently deleted the device (sunglasses) driver on my set. Do you have a website or source for the mini CD or device driver on-line?? Dynodave
