First off I'd like to welcome everybody to the Coolest Gadget forums. CG is coming up to being 1 year old and to mark the occasion these forums will be launched officially on our first anniversary this Thursday (08/17/2006).

Yeah, I initially said the 17th as that's when I registered the domain but the 18th was the first post, so 18th it will be.

I'd love to hear how the whole coolest-gadget thing came about, Al. All the details on how the writers were sourced, how the site was promoted, and the other HOW's etc.

I've not been on my personal blog for a long while either :o

I am considering starting a marketing and general web master blogging blog where I'd cover how CG was started and promoted up until today, some of the stats and graphs are really interesting (IMO) like how a digg front page effected traffic over time, how many sales I got when one of my affiliate links was posted on Gizmodo (which was a complete unintentional fluke). But there are many bloggers blogs already out there and I reckon it would be interesting but very time consuming to write (then again there were also a fair few gadget blogs too :)).

So maybe after a find a buyer for my house.

No, underground doesn't go that far but there's good train connections.

Back on topic: Can't wait to see the influx of new members. I secured a nice member number 20 - would be interesting to see what the highest number is after the weekend.
