If could ask say... Nokia or Motorola to build you a custom phone, what would you ask them to include on your very own creation?

Choice of OS
No OFF button :)

The projector option is probably the coolest option on the list.
Just place your phone on a table and you can project any movie on a wall...
I don't quite understand the "10 free SMS messages per day" option. I'm from Costa Rica, and in here we have unlimited SMS. Do you guys have like a 3 messages per day limit???
We normally have to pay, my contract means I get 200 free talk minutes a month but each SMS costs me 10p.

I guess I just don't care much about phones, but I use a ton of data.
Give me a Universal with a faster processor, some sort of high speed data (EVDO or faster), built in gps, and more RAM and ROM.
My 6700 is a great data device, but I'd love a good clamshell...

That's actually a common request.
I hate to see some great phones -Nokia N93- with amazing features but once you see they only have 50MBs memmory...hmmm... not so nice anymore.
I mean... C'mon, there are 2gigs flash drives the size of a mail stamp!

Storage is really frustrating. We keep reinventing the wheel around the 1-2GB spot, now at the microSD/transflash. How is MiniSD as a "standard" already dead.
I guess I should add USB host to my list. Just circumvent mem cards with pen drives or portable hard drives.

Why not making the phone itself a pen drive/portable hard drive.
Just give the phone 4GB. That should be enough for anyone.
(sounds like Bill Gates famous words about computer memmory...)

All of these lol but with minimum 5MP cam so i can shoot everything that too video cam :p

All that Al mentioned, + bluetooth, + gigs of memory with expansion card, + so it could use a few sim cards at once, strong speakers, waterproof, bulletproof, fireproof, superstrong batery...Well, that would do for a while:D

I like the finger print recognition feature, that way ur friends wont abuse it, girlfriend thing cool too.
- A laser, dude we not building the ultimate spy phone or something, wat would it be it purpose, unless you mean regular paser pointers!

My ideal phone would have a mp3 support with probably two woofers and amplifiers for a loud and crystal cear voice. 10 GB Expandable memory. 10 Megapixel Camera. Along with the norml features. I currently have a Sony Ericsson W550. I love to have cell phones which can play loud music ;)
Fingerprints recognition seems to be a great, out of this world idea :)

We were talking of an ideal phone. And an ideal phone is one which you can keep it for lifetime. And as far as space is concerned, well i play lot of games. Even if i don't, i collect them. Show off ;)

I went to an AMC before and they had the phones thing before the movie with the lord of the rings. At the same time the ringing went on in the film, someone's phone goes off and the ringtone was LOUD........
see thats my point i want to like rip the phone out thier hands and stick it on a orfice i mean seriously...

Another cool feature would be an FM transmitter to hear your mp3s on a normal radio. Or like if you are on a bus and the driver has one of those boring country music stations you can just transmit on the same frequency... That would be nice
well thats built into the MS MP3 player would be nice if it was a all in one device cell HD mp3 player palm OS Smartphone ect..

It's small, it can make cell phone calls, it can do SMS messaging, it has USB host/slave modes, it has speakers (I think), 60+GB storage, DVD player, WiFi, Bluetooth, Touchscreen, and most and best.... It's a laptop!!!!

Now we are talkin! That is actually a great idea... and a cool project to design btw...
actualy you would need a 3 peice
PC/Mini Laptop, Phone/hand unit that acts liek a PDA phoen liek a treo with a sleep design and last the BT headphones or headset that acts for hands free talkign and media purposes... and all 3 would have to have perfect wireless access and comunication to share data isntantly.

Kind of what happened to Siemens... They never evolved/changed their phones...
They all looked the same
Nokia did change but they kept doing things that were just bizare that no one liked and than just gave up.

That is what I like about Sony Ericsson. They have very nice phones, even when they are simple and easy to use. They don't have to create weird designs to make a cool phone.
I heard bad stories from people and thier OS i know a few people who dumped em bec they werent stable but that could of changed but they did say they loved it otherwise

I don't think the OS is unstable... I've had 2 Sony E. and between my sis, mom, dad 5 more and they have all worked just great.
i wont lie they do look sexy though :)

solid state memory is cool but its expensive i like mini HD's better...

Solid state memory is the future of storage. Look at those new HDD that already come with a little flash memmory to store certain data. It's faster, doesn't break, less current draw.
it is its just too expensive right now thats why i think mini drives are alot more viable right now
