Ok people I need sugestions

[Case]

Ok I am working on a interactive installation but ive hit a brick wall and need some help.

I need a way to use a midi controller (Device that sends midi messages to a host software like a midi mixer sends data to a audio editing program) for a video game and map it to either keyboard functions or a moddable game engine (Id prefer to use Unreal Tourny 2k4).

Any one have any suggestions? Seen any gadgets to do just this? Any software apps?

I am trying to avoid programing a full application from scratch to do this.

I cant belive i have had no luck finding a piece of software to take midi messages and convert it to keystrokes this is killing me

Well, there are people with different expertise... so finding out that suits your requirement might not be easy.

you say that like there is a selection... thus far i have not found one piece of software that will take Midi messages and assign to keystrokes or some thing even close.
