I've seen waaaay better homemade mp3 players.
This one you can just buy the kit and that's it! (well... almost...)
It's far more interesting to design it all by yourself. And it's not that hard too.

I also used to watch The Screen Savers. That is interesting, but I would still leave the DIY part to someone else. I'd rather buy an mp3 player than try creating something like it. :p

You know, At this moment, it's even far cheaper to buy an mp3player. They have more memmory, functions, sound quality than a homemade one.
But that doesn't take the fun of building one by yourself.
