Iam leaving this forum, because of the latest rule i see here

When you check the post quality of Case and Giorgi you can easily find the 4-5 word replies which are allwoed :cool:

and my posts are not counted :(

If this rule was to be started we should have known from beginning :mad:

I still see case bumped the forum in many threads to his own posts like iam just doing as iam no more into this contest :(

I'd be sorry to see you go Amit so I hope that you don't. When the points are calculated a lot of the short posts that you mentioned will not count towards total points.

Turning post count off in General Chat and Introductions is an interim measure to not reward some of the spammy posts that were starting to appear.

When the points are calculated, any post that does not meet certain standards will not be counted.

You may not have the highest post count anymore Amit but you probably still have the most points.

If this rule was to be annoucned it should have been done first like i have in my hiifii.com forums where posts are not counted in intro section, but applying after we are in the middle of the game :(

Can you point me at some of the worst threads where this has happened please.

The post count that is displayed does not reflect how many of those posts will be used in the prize draw. Only quality posts will be counted, I do not class 5-6 posts as quality.

I am very open to suggestions on how we can make these forums a spam free place.

I am not joining in on the fun of the competition (obviously, as this is only my second post), but the quote as seen above was mentioned from the very start.

I think it will be a very simple process for CG to go through those posts from the person who has the most to see if they are legit or not.

Al, my suggestion - make a post to be a quality one when it has about [number] of characters. I think 200 is a good one.

Haha there are many mods in vbulletin which can be run , like no post count in intro section and they can be activated from now , if the forum admin group wants to :)
Also there is a points mod similar to cash mod which counts poitns automatically on referrals and post counts ;)
so why to worry about post counts when points wont be added from that :)

well they played with the forums , because of which a new system of no post count was introduced and which effected me, so dont you think there is a a connection :D?

Yeah... I'm a mod over on sharkyforums.com, a PC-related tech forums... and even prior to becoming a mod, I just went onto help people w/ questions and issues... as well as learn new things.

Such is my expectation here... the OT is nice... but is usually very abused. To me, post counts don't mean much...

I can see where the complaints are on quality versus quantity and I would hope that where the contest is concerned the mods of the forums would be looking that over

However, just because a post is short, doesn't necessarily mean the quality is not there (and no I'm not talking about some of these posts cause frankly you're right, I've seen better conversations on msn messenger) - sometimes things can be said without a lot of words mucking it up

Thus far I think most people here have come together to share thoughts, ideas and knowledge with each other - and perhaps those guilty of the short posts , maybe they will see this and jump in with the same

Hi amit, I have been reading a couple of your posts since CG Forums started and I must compliment that they were great posts. I really hope that you will stay and continue in here, not just because of the prizes, but also making new friends here and sharing the knowledge what you have about gadgets and non-gadget stuffs.

With regards to the banner that you've made,... nice effort, but I don't kind of like the glowing word "forums", it make it rather blurry to me.
