Is there any phone that can take 2 sim cards at once with 2 different lines? it would be handy to carry 1 phone instead of 2

I don't think there is a phone that can do that but why not just carry 2 sim cards that are in a pouch? My brother has a pouch for his sim cards (Has 4) and he justs swaps them in and out.

thats a hassle.....wouldnt it be way more convenient to have both of them in at the same time.......one for friends and one for work

It would be convenient but the phones I know would be the ones that do CDMA and GSM. I haven't seen any phones that do 2 CDMA's or 2 GSM profiles.

i doubt companies will ever make them. For the simple sake that they would rather sell you 2 phones then 1 :(

My friend has a modded nokia cover and it can hold 2 sims at a time. he just needs to restart to select the sim.

I guess something like this

but you cant use both at the same time.....i need 2 sim cards working at the same time with the ringtone being different so i can tell what sim its coming from. i also need to be able to switch off one line without switching off the other.

There are special sim cards that you can load up with two identities. They work like if you where using 2 different sims.

I remember seeing one, that could work with 3 SIMs at a time. I have it somewhere in my journals. I'll check, but if i remember correctly, that's hardly a mobile that you'd like to be seen with (stupid appearance)

if it takes 2 cards i would consider any appearance

Why dont you use 2 different phones? As long as they are small...

Lol, doing something like that would be madness.. Id imagen it is possible from a programmers point of view but i really wouldnt wana make something like that. It would be like building 2 phones on one handset.. IE 2 of everything inside..

whats the point of having to carry 2 phones....id rather have everything compacted into one

Brand new style dual sim compatible with GSM phone models. With this new design you no longer have to turn off your phone to change between numbers, change the look of your phone with a thicker housing or enter pins to change lines. With this new desing you can do all the switching directly from the main menu of the phone.

There are quite a number of phones that have dual sim card feature; however, only ONE sim card can be activated and used at any single time. That's the drawback.

I had one of these dual-sim-card devices and found that they were rubbish. Not worth having at all.

Can you share your experience? Why is it rubbish? Isn't having 2 sim better than 1?

I had to switch the phone off and on again to switch to the different sim. About half the time it wouldn't work. The quality of the ghost sim was very low, but it needed a super low-profile battery to be able to fit into the phone.
