Do you trust the phones you find on ebay?

It depends on the seller... I mostly look at seller's feedback to be sure of if they are just people who sell junk or people who sell quality items.

I have bought 2 phones for myself on ebay and 3 more for friends and they where all good. Just make sure you check who is the seller and it's always better if he has an ebay store.

My friend bought a second-hand phone off of someone, although I don't know if it was eBay. Anyway it always throws me off when I get his voicemail because the voice on the answering service is some random guy I've never heard of :). I guess he's just lazy.

That doesn't make sense though.. Was it a gsm phone or was it a CDMA phone? If it was CDMA then yea I understand that.. but on a gsm phone.., who would sell their phone with the sim card?

I have no idea, not very big on phones. I think he might have just gotten the plan transferred to him so the message stayed with the phone.

If it's from a reputable seller then maybe, I would check their ratings first. I've purchased accessories but never phones. I'd be more prone to buy from someone on HoFo (http://www.howardforums.com) before EBay but that's just me ;)

Had a friend sell his phone on Ebay - he worked for a mobile company which shall remain nameless and they actually used that excuse to fire him as they said it was unethical since he got the phone at company price...

If ya ask me they were lookin for a reason to get rid of him!

I got my Samsung i700 PDA phone off eBay back in January ... my previous phone was "forgotten" in my jeans and was washed in the machine! :( Got decent price...

The key is in making sure that the seller is good. I try to avoid those resellers and buy it off of individuals.

My friend's brother bought a P910i on ebay and when he got it the phone was in japanese!!! A simple firmawe update changed everything, but it was still rather funny.
