In just the first few days of the forums it seems like we've run into the problems of post count. Post count is easy to gain as it is an automated system which anyone can exploit. I think reputation would be a much better system for determining when someone is a valuable member to the community and that reputation should be a leading part of the scoring process for prizes.
Reputation is much harder to get and it has to be given for legitimate posts by other people, not just a script. I think that if it worked at HM, it could easily work at CG especially considering how fast it's growing.
All I've ever found with post count on other forums is that it causes problems.
