How-To: Make a cheap portable espresso machine

I originally heard about this on the blogsphere podcast and of course had to go look at the site -

It truly is an expresso machine (who was it looking for Kitchen Gadgets?) made from Pvc tubing and a caulk gun!

That would be me looking for kitchen gadgets. I think I'll be afyet something a bit more hi-tech than that. Looks interesting but making an expresso machine out of drainpipe will not make me a very popular guy :).

Well, another cheap alternative is the same stuff that the Vietnamese restaurants use... those aluminum things you place on tof of a mug/cup and it drips down ... I got two at home... and they were like $3 each or sth... cafe suda...

Just make sure the PVC pipe is clean first before using it. Could it be possible that heat will cause material from the PVC to sort of leak out (I forgot the proper term) to the coffee?
