i do, its great. not much software that you'd need because it comes with so much software to begin wit. however, i suggest looking into either iSquint and/or ffmpegx (video encoders), handbrake (dvd ripper), audacity (audio recorder, gimp (free photoshop software), Quicksilver (app launcher), skype (voip), Reckless drivin' (driving game), and macsolitaire (good solitaire app)

I dont think i could ever use a mac more than anything than just shake to be honest...

that is because u have yet to unlock its true potential. tsk tsk. i myself was a windows user up until 6th grade wen my craptastic machine got so overidden w/ viruses and spyware, it was deemed unusable. thus i was forced to use my mom's spare ibook from work (which was only a year old). now before this, i absolutely hated macs because they were just different. after just one week, i was convinced never to go back to that evil monopoly of an os known as windows.

Case
08-23-2006, 08:09 AM
Thats just a excuse of not learning to properly use a system and have a company babby sit you because face it apple trys to idiot proof things... sond dont start the monopoly BS look at apple they refuse to licence hardware to other companies thats why motherboards and the like you buy from APPLe and APPLE vendors ONLY there is no 31 flavors of hardware vendors.

Me, too! The Macbook is fantastic. I have fallen in awe of it since I first got in contact with a friend's Macbook. Although I have yet to learn how to operate it the way I am at ease with a PC, I don't think it will take so much time.

Considering the only thing apple has going for them is the OS now, which can be installed on boxes that usually run windows in the first place, makes for no reason anymore to even buy an apple box.

Case
08-25-2006, 06:47 AM
This is true... Soon as it becomes more viable on a amd box im going to ditch it all together so i can run shake on non over priced apple box's

asian_smith
08-25-2006, 06:51 AM
apple's are no longer overpriced. there have been comparisons done

Case
08-25-2006, 06:52 AM

of course an article from macworld will be mac bias, their reason for including a quadro and comparing it to a geforce 7300 was that the quadro was the lowest priced card that supported the 30 inch monitor... that's a pretty poor excuse to overprice a pc by $2000 by including such a graphics card... are they stupid?

Case
08-25-2006, 07:11 AM
First of all quadros are pro based cards that cost double and in some cases 3 times the amoutn of a gerforce based consumer card...

Same time thats also not true Geforce cards do support 30" screens with out a problem

How do i know this? because we robbed a 30" in APPLE LCD from the second floor at SVA and broght it up to the third floor for our lan :)

i've tried to see it from your perspective...
but its just too hard to stick my head that far up my ass. you buy an apple to use mac osx because it's better than windows, not because it's incredibly cheap. the fact that you can point out the difference between two gpu's by the same company bothers me and makes me wonder, does this man/woman, have a social life

Case
08-25-2006, 07:13 AM
the point that you missed is that your paying over 1000 more for the EXACT same thing that you can still install the apple OSX on.. who siadi nstall windows... i can boot OSX off of any PC just about

asian_smith
08-25-2006, 07:13 AM
for ****'s sake. it's still $1000 more expensive. if you wanna not upgrade the gpu on the dell, the mac pro will still be cheaper

asian_smith
08-25-2006, 07:16 AM
really, how the hell did you manage to do that?

Case

uh, you realize that you not knowing the difference in the first place really doesn't help your argument. And I love that I can clearly see the start of the stages of denial in this thread... denial... anger...
You also... do know... that mac OSX can and is being used on intel (even AMD) built computers since last year? Even dual booting with Windows.
