Well, at least we found the smartest home in the country out of all of the entries received in SmartLabs' "Smartest Home in America" contest, which ran from May 1st to June 15th of this year.
The contest was run to find out how homeowners are using electronics and automation to improve everyday life in their homes, not to find the most expensive or lavish connected home. Winners were selected based on originality and imagination. The grand prize winner, Cory Gransee of Mesa, Arizona, received a $1000 shopping spree at Smarthome.com. Second prize (won by John Conrader of Mount Dora, Florida) was a $500 gift certificate, and third prize (Todd Wostrel of Roads, Texas) was a $250 gift certificate.
