iPod Killers!!!

So I've been talking to lots of friends and colleagues recently about the tons of "iPod Killers" that have been introduced to the market. Actually they're more like iPone killers. Most of them suck. Companies are trying too hard to replicate the iPhone without trying to do their own thing.

I actually found one device that I like and I kinda want everyone else's opinion. It's the Sony Ericsson W580. This device is a music lovers dream. It has a speaker (which can get pretty loud) and makes uploading and listening to music so easy. I also really like that I can use AIM and check my email.

What does everyone else think of this neat little gadget?

The Sony Ericsson W580 is a nice phone and music player, it doesn't have the cool factor of the iPhone. It's probably more suited to the music lover rather than the tech lover that the iPhone attracts. I still prefer a phone qith a full qwerty keyboard as I use it more for email than voice (go figure).

The iPhone, iPod or Apple's product are icons of trendy, those try to replicate will finally fail, otherwise, those copycat in China will finally win out, not Sony Ericcsson.

My Archos WIFI KILLS LAME ASS IPODS!!! I don't even know why everyone wants a LAME-POD anyways!!! I love being able to Rip Movies from the Net and watch it live on TV with no hassles and surfing the net from my palm with ease!!!

Still can't beat the iPod. Simplicity. Even the old ones are better then most other competitiors on the market.

I have a beef with this iPhone, why every-time i press against my face it mutes my phone call

Yeah I agree with some of the other responders, the iphone is mostly cool for the trend factor. Like the ipod touch, it is cool, not as practical as some out there but cool nonetheless.

mrnewsfly really? It mutes your call? That would be SO annoying! Weird.

I tend to keep my communication seperate from my pmp. Since i have wifi i get free internet instead of paying at&t $80 a month plus the $300 for the phone. Doesn't really make a lot of sense.

Working or not working it sure does look hot. Like the ipod touch, it looks great too though it doesn't hold many songs :(
