I hope you guys are changing it sometime in the future, because it looks a bit cluttered on the main page and the logo is pretty plain :(

i just comented in another thread that they could use some branding of some sort some Identification design... Look at Gizmodo nice and sleep and simple with the reflection and they animate one of the letters now i belive..Engadget is playing off the broadcasting of data signal icon off the t in the end... branding is fun...

I take it you're talking about the main site rather than these forums, if so yes a redesign is due and scheduled. I do quite like the current design but after a year cracks are certainly starting to appear.

I actually quite like the logo, simple but it does the job. I prefer to concentrate more on content rather than looks but it will all be getting overhauled in the near future.

pft.... its simple enugh that i can replicate it in office... thats hte point... keep it simple but give it some orignality so that it becoems a uniqe representation of the site its self.

I have the same opinion as Al, It's not so much about appearance, but more about content. That's what got me interested in CG in the first place.

About time somebody agreed with me, thanks jacubilloro.

The main site will be getting a face lift to look more like these forums. I'm wanting to stop it being fixed width and have 2 columns on the right for infornation links rather than the single column on the left it has now. I can picture how I want it in my head :)

They do go hand in hand thoughh. One is neither more important than the other. Clean uniqe interface that allows a user to make best use of the content is a big plus.. besides its a gadget site... who wants the same old same thing we want a sexy new omg interface...
