Mobile phones being one of the easiest ways for communications have become an indispensable gadget for everyone. In the fast paced world, its obvious that everyone is busy and no one has time to meet people in person. In such a situation your mobile phone plays a crucial role. With technological advancement, new mobile phones are much more advanced as compared to the older one that people would use a few years ago.

I can go without mobile for a few days; that shouldn't be a problem to me. Believe it or not, I still have my Nokia 3310 with me. Well, it's not my main mobile phone, but I have my secondary sim card operating inside it.

I don't actually use my cell phone much at all these days. It has been sitting in a drawer lately. I can definitely live without it. I do like it for safety reasons and for when I am out and the kids are home alone etc etc but I have really gotten used to not using it again. It's kinda nice
Is there anyone still considering living without a mobilephone? I can't imagine.

I don't use a cell phone. I owned a prepaid phone for work very briefly and someone gave me a dead one thats sitting in my flat. I've never used them much I don't believe it's necessary to have a cellphone and landline too - preferably 1 or the other.

Cellphone nowadays is more of a necessity, can be considered as one of the basic needs. I cannot live without my cellphone since I'm a woman on the go and I depend on it in since most of my business transactions are done through my mobile phone. They can always reach me anytime, 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
I can't live without mobile .Life without Mobile , I can never think of it even in my dreams.

I can't actually remember what it was like before my mobile, oh actually, i can remember annoying phone calls to my friends where you had to get past their mothers first........or even worse trying to call up a boyfriend and hearing them get ridiculed by other family members haha cringe cringe!!!! At least now who we speak to is private!
And the text message, what a genuis invention, now you dont actually have to talk to people at all.....brilliant!!!

I seldom make calls using mobile. Yet, I find that it is considered as a necessity. I would take it as the way to communicate anywhere I want. There was once when I had forgotten to top up and it's kind of difficult to find a workable phone booth. Even if I found one, I might not have any coins with me at that time.

Yes, they are essential in my opinion. I wouldn't be without mine. Especially as phone boxes are few and far between (or vandalised)!

It's one of those things you can live without as long as you don't have one, but as soon as you do you can never go back and can't imagine what it was like before you had it. Same goes for GPS systems.

My fav gadget would always be a mobile phone... Only concern should be these technical gadgets be used properly with that necessity or purpose for which it is invented.
Mobiles, no matter how gee-whiz are not necessarily all beneficial in the long run especially when the potential for misuse is so vast.

I know this is sacrilegious of me, but I love nothing more than going on holiday and leaving the mobile phone at home so that I'm totally unreachable. It's to only way to completely "power down".

i do need mobile phone at least to contact my parents that live in different area. another feature you leave message (sms) if you are very lazy to talk. these are the minimum usage of my mobile phone. it is still necessary to have one.

Life without a cell phone? I'm quite tied to mine actually, so I understand how people can say they can't live without them. But I do wish a lot of people would learn proper cell phone etiquete for when they are in stores or their cars and on the phone. Maybe they should start teaching this in school. It's ridiculous.
It wouldn't hurt to pay more attention to the world around you a little bit, especially while driving. I can't believe more states haven't made it a law that you can't talk on the cell phone while driving. (Go NY!)

At least for me, it is very important. A best companion.
I feel a mobile phone is essential these days, theres so many things that can go wrong and it just makes life easier having a mobile to keep in contact with people.
I do not like to use cell phone, but I need it to see the time.

That'd be so horrible & full of boringness. I can't live without mobile phone right now. But earlier before, I am free from mobile phone. That's amazing na.
I also wanna say something, must have tracking system software in your mobile as well as your vehicle too. For this go at thinktracking.co.uk, and have this feature.

Looks like we can survive without a heart but not without a mobile. Its become kinda mandatory today; and if you are without one, period people push you back to the stone age days. I used to wonder how we survived 10 years back without this small wonderful piece. Hats off to the marketing person who had cultivated this habit in us.
There is one great personality in the world who doesn't use a mobile phone, Sir Wareen Buffet.

I think it's basically a necessity, but we don't need it as much as we think we do. Good for emergencies and convenience, but I think excessive internet use and "productivity" on mobile phones actually slows us down, because we could batch tasks and complete them much faster on a PC.

Hi,
this is prasad.
my opinion is It's both(Necessity and Nuisance).....A good example for both in my experience.
I was in a car
wreck on the freeway, I was glad I could call someone to come get me.
I hate driving by somebody on the phone when they don't pay attention to what they are doing.
PS: your question will be the "great debate" for many years to come. ;)

Mobile phones are no different than anything else. They can be good and bad depending on how they're used and how ignorant people can be.
I love that I can get my email, listen to podcasts, check my bank accounts, watch movies, and do a million other things on the go. I don't do anything besides make calls while driving and I only do that via headset. If I dont have my headset I pull over.
