Top 2,000 in Technorati

I was just checking over at Technorati and Coolest Gadgets is now in the top 2,ooo of most linked to blogs (http://www.technorati.com/search/http://www.coolest-gadgets.com/):

There's still plenty of scope for growth and improvement but it's a nice little jump. When we first started we were in the top 200,000 or something like that.

Thanks guys, it does seem to be fluctuating some what at the moment. With the launch of these forums there haven't been as many posts on the main site which probably explains the drop (well rise).

That's nice, Al. Coolest Gadgets sure have potential to stride on further, but I believe the main sites will definitely need more posting to keep members with the latest gadgets. That's how CG moves up.

That's nice, Al. Coolest Gadgets sure have potential to stride on further, but I believe the main sites will definitely need more posting to keep members with the latest gadgets. That's how CG moves up.
We currently have 6 different writers (including me), it does seem if one misses a day they all do which is a bit annoying. I try to get between 5 and 10 quality blog posts a day which seems to work well and get enough incoming links to improve or at least maintain rankings.

It did at the start with the extra publicity, now traffic is still up but it is difficult to say if that's due to the forums or just natural growth. These forums are a long term project so I expect the forums to slow down from the initial burst (which they have) and then grow steadily over time.

I wonder if its mostly due to the contest... when ever a site does a promo with that i all ways wonder what the numbers change to after the hoopla is over there has to be a certin percentage of fall off...
