View Full Version : My Wi-Fi Rabbit
http://www.coolest-gadgets.com/wp-images/wifirerabbit.gif I wrote about and ordered a Nabaztag (http://www.coolest-gadgets.com/20060312/ultimate-wi-fi-gadget-its-a-rabbit/) back in March, it finally turned up in July, the day before I went on holiday, so I've not really had chance to play with it yet. This is the first bad experience I've had with Firebox, the fact it took 4 months to deliver and I got no apology or warning at all.
Any how it's here now and all setup, it goes by the name CoolGadgets and you can send messages and commands to it via the Nabaztag (http://www.nabaztag.com/) site. I'm tempted to get it hooked up to a web-cam and have a daft live CG feed going on but that will have to wait till after my house move.
You can write web-services to transmit just about anything to the Nabaztag so I'm looking for cool projects to get started with. Was thinking of an ear waggle when ever there is comment on the blog but I reckon that would cause the ears to rotate permanently which may get a tad annoying :).

its a cool one, but does that move so slowly as its moving now?
Probably a bit slower, you can make it change color and rotate the ears in different directions though.

cool so it can customised too :)
Yeah it's got a full API so you can send commands to it. You could probably write a script so that it can monitor your Adsense account, ears up = good day, ears down = not so good day:)

Someone's going to smack me but I don't really know what Wi-Fi is for...
It's funny, the blog Adsense ad is for real rabbits, learn everything about rabbits, with a picture of a rabbit just cause you say rabbit. :D

hmm wi fi hmm check this out ;) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wi-Fi
It basically means you can connect to a network (like the Internet) without the need of wires. Things talk to each other as if by magic :).

Well after six months of owning one, I still cannot really answer that. In theory it's supposed to be telling me traffic, weather, news and e-mail alerts, but the crazy thing genuinely seems to be developing a mind of its own, and I give it another six months before it gets up and starts looking for Sarah Connor.
lol :D:D
good one
haha funny, if you want to send a message to mine it's online name is CoolGadgets. You can send a message from here (http://www.nabaztag.com/vl/FR/msg_home.jsp) (nothing offensive please). I might regret posting this

Sneaky, makes you think no string attached but then you need to register. I'll pass.
BTW with phidgets you can easily make your own nabaztag like device to remotely give it commands and make it do things.

I'm thinking about ordering one of those. It might go well with my Origami Family XD.

Yeah that is sneaky I never realised that it must of remembered me when I first registered it.

LOOOL that thing is so ridicilously useless it's actually great :D
I've had a few messages sent to mine in a really dodgy accent. I was lying on the sofa this morning and at about 3AM this female voice came on saying "Hi I am Mike..."
Useless but cool, unless I can think of a useful webservice that can communicate in ear movements and color flashes (that voice just sounds a bit anal).

I once heard on the street a lady saying that same phrase...
