This burglar alarm apparently detects intruders and sends a tweet to your twitter. I could only see this being useful if you lived on twitter but regardless you can find it on "Beating the Internet".

Here's a tip for women (or guys) when staying in a hotel. Don't trust the door lock as in some countries, staff can supply a 'key' to thieves. So before you go to bed, balance a chair against the door and put a waste basket with a bottle in it (which means you have to hit the mini bar) on the seat of the chair. Now if someone opens the door, the clattering noise will wake you. A simple but effective burglar alarm.

Hmmm... internet burglar alarm? that's new, but what can you do if the thief has a gun? maybe the net burglar alarm should be directed to the nearest police office for immediate response.

all you need is a sticker that says you have an alarm installed. And maybe a red or green LED on near the front door.
