It's that time of year (for me) when my mobile phone contract is up for renewal so I'm after a new phone. I'm looking for suggestions of what to go for, these are the features that I'm after:

Essential features

Good Web Browsing experience
Fast data entry
MP3 Player
Not "too" bulky (i.e. fits in trouser pocket)
WiFiLike to have features

2 mega-pixel+ camera
Touch ScreenAll Suggestions welcome, thanks :)

Don't they offer a free phone as incentive to buy into another contract? God i hate those contracts! The penalties to cancel ahead of time are nasty!

Has anybody had any experience of the Sony Ericsson P990i (http://www.sonyericsson.com/spg.jsp?cc=gb&lc=en&ver=4000&template=pp1_1_1&zone=pp&lm=pp1&pid=10336), it seems to tick all my boxes and would work with my existing memory cards.

My mobile phone guru mate recommended me against it, going to check out the SPV M3100 (http://shop.orange.co.uk/shop/show/handset/orange_spv_m3100/detail/pay_monthly) which goes by many names.

It's a bit thicker than I'd hoped but for what you get I'm not surprised. I'm going to play with one Wednesday and if I like it then that's my next mobile. On contract it's £150 (~$280)

That one is a bit thick, but all the features sound like they'll make up for it. :P The screen is beautiful and with that camera you should be able to take some "usable" pictures.

Hope you don't run into any problems, but if Orange is anything like Verizon here, be prepared.

It was fun and games getting hold of it but well worth it. I'm now replying over my wifi connection on a very usable keyboard.

Now have lots of toys to play with :)

Do you actually browse the web on your phone now? I have never been a big fan of web browsing on a cell phone and I have tried it for 10 years now.

Yes, it's taking me a bit of getting used to but for checking email and football scores it's absolutely ideal.
