I never understood by people still play game boxes when pc's are set up to run games. I love using the pc as a multi media outlet and only play pc games. What am i missing with the game box set ups that i cant do on the pc?

Yeah, its seems like you have to update those game boxes every other year. So far the pc games are pretty standard fair. I never got into the joy stick but im sure you can add one to a pc game so i dont see any reason to use a game box instead. What am i missing?

I love to play the games on the computer. I'm not sure why more people don't.
I don't know, each day the fate of the PS3 gets bleaker. The price is to high, there won't be enough to meet demands, Europe's been forgotten about completely, etc.
You forgot about the Wii, which sounds like it'll be a great console.

I asked the why play a console on a gaming site and this is what someone said that made alot of sense.
With a PC basically you have a living breathing virus magnet, you have to really stay on top of your updates in order to just turn the damn thing on much less play a game.
With a console, you take it out of the box, plug it in, and play.
More games to play ona console, lets face it the PC section of any store that sells games is just wasting away, while they add more and more shelves full of games for the console.
Better gaming quality for the console. PC game makers could care less how a game ships, from the game killing bugs to the game killing lag, they'll just take your money now and give ya a working game ina year or so............the patch is coming!!!
With a console they pretty much have to have the game working before it ships, which means better bug control and game play.
At home multi player, with a console you can sit down with your family or friends on one machine and enjoy some gaming goodness. With a PC you have to have separate gaming systems meaning thousand of extra dollars spent just to play the same damn game.
Upgrades, with a PC you have to upgrade consistently in order to keep up with the current games and play them like the manufacturer intends them to be played. Sure you rig can play the games a year or three later but they will not play them at optimal performance and your gaming experience will suffer. Basically you are going to spend thousands trying to get your PC up to date.
With a console you are good to go for up wards of ten years, no upgrades needed to play the latest games.
Now I use to think that the graphics were way better ona PC, well that shit just ain't true anymore, with the way consoles are going now and what the future holds for them I fear the PC for gaming will soon be a thing of the past.
I could go on but I'm hungry and really don't give a ****........

I want to check out the new Nintendo as they tend to make more games I like. We have a PS2 but I am hard pressed to find games I enjoy for it.

I've been thinking of buying a PS2 once the price/demand drops a bit and I can get one for fairly cheap. There a lot of games that I want to try for it. I want a Wii too. The motion sensing looks pretty cool and I want to see how well FPS games play on it.
ps2? and if you get a wii please take a cool video and show us how leet you look trying to play zelda swinging a imaginary sword around :)

Yep, PS2, I never got around to buying one and once no one wants it because of all the next gen consols I figure I'll be able to get it for cheap(er).
I don't care what you say about the Wii, I'm not saying I'll be some "leet" hardcore gamer. I think it will be fun and that's all that matters to me.
im not saying your not going to be leet im saying its going to be very entertaining to sit there watching you swing a remote controll around pretending to be zelda :)
trust me it will be friggin halarious

I personally like both ways of gaming. There are some drawbacks on both. What one cannot do or play the other one usually can.
how do you know you like some thing that you dont own or know any one who owns to try it?

Personaly I prefer the upcoming Nintendo Wii over PS3 or XBox. The Wii is going to be cheaper plus its got an awesome new controller design. Well, I've never realy been a gamer, but I do like old fashioned games. I can't wait to try out their new interactive controller.
I dont know i just cant wrap my head around jumping around like a idiot with a virtual sword in my living room pretendign to be zelda at my age... i mean theres no way you cant look like a total tard... but thats just my opinion...
see my thing is multiplayer i am not a big single player fan in fact it kills me ican only take it for so long... Thats why when the xbox came out iwas like OMG ROCK ON! LIVE!! 360 came out and crap games and jacked the price of live so i never went out to buy a 360 said screw that... so for me to buy a 360, wii, or ps3 not only does the price have to be right but it also has to have the game titles i like...
Right now for the PC im looking foward to Spore! omg spore pwns, the World of Warcraft Burning Crusade addon, and Quake Wars Enemy terretory! that looks awsome... i may buy the new BF i dont know yet. Its been al ong time since ive had a good RTS :(

My husband is the same way. He loves gaming, so I was thinking about getting him an xbox or something, but I know he wouldn't really really like it, because he likes gaming on the PC. Which means that I still have to think about something to get him instead of getting him the console and games and stuff. Ugh.
