Don't really know if you would call this a gadget, I couldn't resist as it has the looks without the ferrari bills and seems like a good investment at the price I got it for.

It is a Ferrari 355 replica, I just bought on ebay yesterday, now me being me and being a bit impulsive I decided to make my bid with 9 seconds to go and then I looked up a map to see where it was located in relation to my house.

Agh:eek:  ! sometimes I am such my own enemy. I actually bought it as an investment (honestly honey, its business) should be able to sell it for about £4k more than I paid for it at the start of next summer. Buying off-peak and plan to sell at peak time. In the meantime it will be my favourite gadget, sorry business deal/investment :)
That looks very cool, and you even have a route for your first posing trip. By the looks of the map you'll be practically going past my place so if you want to stop by let me know.

does uk have an autobahn/highway where there are no speed limits ?
Nope, maximum is 70mph though there are plenty of stretches without cameras ;)

No fear, its too far for me so I am trying to arrange a company to pick it up and bring it to me, been quoted £485 which seems a fair price but eating into the profit somewhat.

As far as I know, if you are on the motorway in UK, it's pretty much easy to commute over 120-160kmph. Essentially, it happens in Scotland.
From that map, it seems like the location is all the way down south. My goodness, that's gonna make a big crack on your wallet for those petrol you'll using to travel up north.

Yep pretty much one end of the country to the other, I tried getting flights down to drive back but nothing, just heard back from a car transportation company and they will pick it up for me and deliver it to my house for £485 so its booked in to be picked up Monday, delivered Tuesday. Probably not that far away from the cost of getting down there and driving it back with flights/fuel so I'll happily watch it getting dropped off at my house.
60kmp would really annoy me, I mean in a built up area fair enough but not on a dual carriageway/motorway?

I went to Brands Hatch last year to a replica show off day. Raced around the track (as passenger) in a nice Cobra as well. Thing is with those replica's, any car fanatic will laugh at it. You can see the difference from a mile if you only have the slightest interest in cars. It's like wearing a blatantly fake Armani suit or something like that. You may look cool in the wood duck's eye but those who probably matter more to you will think you're a knob.
I'd only settle for the real thing if it's available. Cobra's aren't built anymore and those replica's were really high quality - not plastic-y like the fake Ferrari's and Lambo's there that day.

I know what your saying but up in NE Scotland, they aint so sharp;)
I know Ferrari never did a T-Bar 355, they did a 355 GTS but not a T-Bar, also replica's greatly differ from kit car, they are not the same.
Ultimately I have already had an offer from someone locally who heard I am getting it up here to make a £1k flip profit, but I know next year I'll sell it locally for around a £3k-£4k profit after buying it for £8k.

True, Kit's that can be clicked together by any odd spastic are much worse. From a business point of view, if you can get that 4 grand uplift, it's a great deal indeed.

Wow... how much is the replica?! And it has the matching power plant as well?!! (at least in hp?)

They mostly run regular 6 cylinder engines from the car they borrowed the chassis of.

Oh... that's disappointing... so it's only a replica in the sense of exterior, not performance.

Yes, that's where you get the price benefit. You get the looks (sort of) but nothing else.
Though there are 'proper' replica's as well that are pretty much identical, like the Cobra's I mentioned earlier. They are built to perfection and are virtually identical to how they used to be. Better even if you take into account updated technology. But then yuo also get to pay what a real one (would have) cost.
Theres a guy that livesi n my building who has a fake lambo he has like a mid life crisis thing goin hes rich but too cheap to buy a real lambo so hes got this fake one that has a japenese motor in it with a fake shell its funny as hell.. hes all ways trying to pick girls up with it..

Most 355 replicas don't have an engine overhaul but obviously the body is light so improves the performance a bit and they trade very well, especially when the good weather hits, thankfully I have a 4ltr 7 series beemer which has a fantastic V8 in it, unfortunately I don't have the road infrastructure locally to enjoy as much as I could.
Lambo replica's are mainly kitcars and built from scratch so more often than not they are built by enthusiastic newbies and unless you invest £25k-£35k in one you'll end up with a piece of junk that probably drives like crap, the Ferrari replica I bought was for £8k which should sell for around £11-£12k at the start of next summer locally up here but it isn't a great car nor a fast car, there is still a huge market of young people who spend thousands pimping small cars and for that market this type of replica appeals to them, especially when you can insure it for around £300 per year, that is the main reason most people don't chuck a large engine under the bonnet.
On a side note I do know of someone who owns a Countach and also owns a professionally built replica and he generally drives the replica but this replica was built by specialists and it is amazing.
