My Skype headsets (I tested a few) don't work anymore with my Powerbook. I hear sound but the mic part isn't working. In Settings > Sound where the input meter is, it doesn't record any sound coming in.
I only once used it before when I had it hooked up to my decks to spin some tunes, that's when I found out it didn't have a built-in Amp like my Creative sound blaster has in my desktop. Maybe I blew it up?
Luckily Apple is opening a new Store nearby in Kingston, saves me travelling to Oxford Street. But before I go, are there any Mac Os whizzes here who know a few tricks to test whether this is really knackered?
