I just saw the commercial for this the other day. http://www.epinions.com/content_224936234628 Isn't plastic a no no at high temperatures? Does it bond with the food? Ive used my crock pot a few times but i never thought the clean up was that intense.

well its meant for slow cookers (is that the same as a crock pot?) which aren't going to be set at very high temperatures. Unless its food grade silicon I wouldn't trust it.

ooohh... I just remembered: you get "cook in bag" sauces. You buy the bag with the sauce in it... put a chicken in it... tie the ends... then pop it into the oven.

The crock pot liners could be made from the same stuff?

Crock pot and slow cooker is the same thing. Yeah Ive seen the other type cooking bags but i dont like cooking with plastic. I dont care what they say Ive heard way to much about how the plastic binds to the food. Your not even supposed to microwave in a plastic container. I dont trust those companies to care about my safely. Its all about the money. They have no social consciousness.

Hmmm. I don't think I trust it...who knows what chemicals are leeched from the plastic into your food when you heat them at high temperatures! I remember having a weird taste in some foods after heating them in plastic packaging (like the boilable plastic bag meals).

I always figured it was pretty hard to burn something in a crock pot/slow cooker, due to the relatively low temps and the fact that you usually have liquid in there as well.

I really don't find the need for something like this. With the newer crockpots or at least the one I have you can take the inside right out. Now I guess it would be good for the older style ones where you cannot take the inside out. It would make for easier washing on those types of crock pots.

I think I would rather use the liners and not have to worry about getting lead poisoning from all the crock pots that use lead in their glazing.
