View Full Version : Finally Bought the Next House
In my ongoing house saga, I've finally exchanged contracts and bought my new house, so will start the rip out and start again process sometime tomorrow night.
This does mean I now have 2 mortgages and owe the bank about $500K (why do I always work in dollars and not pounds) so things will be a little tight until I sell my existing house.
I'll be so glad when this move and sale is all done and dusted.

Brilliant, Al.
Are you still staying with in-laws?
No, I'm back in my old house as that's near my work but I'm travelling every weekend to see my daughter who is staying with the out-laws. Once I complete the sale of my house down South we'll both be moving into the new place. So this weekend is going to be spent cleaning, getting locks changed and deciding which room to start on.

Congrats Al, don't forget to take some pics for us :)
Well just as you think it's all plain sailing and going through
Now MY money has been lost between the two sets of solicitors, the vendor is going insane and the Estate Agents are stressed, for me it's just got to the point where it's really funny :D Hopefully sorted by 5pm though, idiots!

Gawd - what a mess. I'm sure it will get straightened out and good that you can laugh at it. At least here in the US, (equivelent of) the solicitors make a pretty pound (!) in commissions, so you'd think they would do a better job.
It's now not going to happen until Monday. Some how my money has been lost between the solicitors and now they've all gone home to spend their commissions. I think I'll be relaxing with a drink a bit later.

How can the money be lost? But they're definitely in the hands of the solicitors, so you should be fine :)

Sounds nice, but beers easier :)

Money is in banks some where or other and as they close and solicitors have to be in attendance at public houses before 5pm we're a bit stuck.
I have been round the house today though and laid my office carpet and had all the locks changed :)
