Some of you are Windows people and some are OSX people. I am personally a Windows guy, so if I were to invest in a MacBook, MacBook Pro, or Mac Pro, I would definitely hit up Bootcamp and load Windows on it. I would probably mess with some of the OSX features, but I am just so used to Windows, that I would still need that for the ease of use.

What would/do you guys do?

Considering you're used to Windows (XP?) and they have a new OS coming up in Vista you might as well go Mac OS entirely then. Either way, you have to learn something new. I use Windows, Mac OS and Linux daily and found that the variety keeps things interesting, challenging and just generally refreshing for the brain.

i don't think having boot camp on a mac will mess up some of the mac os features.

Boot Camp is still in beta. Apple is still working out a few bugs, but it's very usable in it's current form.

Another alternative you may want to consider is running Parallels from within OS X. I've tested it out and was extremely impressed with how fast it ran.

I am a die-hard Windows user but needed to get comfortable with the new Mac OS for helping teachers. I purchased both an Intel-based Macbook and iMac as soon as they were available, installed Bootcamp and WinXP Pro on both, and use the Windows side about 95% of the time. The newest upgrade to Bootcamp came out yesterday, and it fixed some of the hardware on the Windows side that did not work, most notably the iSight camera.

It is a great solution for those that want to run (and be comfortable with) both platforms. I did not go with Parallels, since I need to close down and take a big breath before switching platforms! :-)

Another vote for Parallels here. Bootcamp is fine, but the ability to switch on-the-fly is a great feature and one I myself find useful.

I use PC's at work and a Mac at home, and although my mac-zealot days are long over, I still find the experience of using OSX far more enjoyable than my Windows experience. Not to mention that I find myself being more productive on the Mac, which i admit is a rather subjective thing and your experience may very. Just keep an open mind, play around with Tiger and give it a chance. You might surprise yourself.
