Goto Google Belgium (http://www.google.be/) and there you will see the court order.

Google is facing copyright charges from newspapers as they are reproducing parts of the material in their own website before linking to the newspapers. The belgian newspapers won the first part.

No this is another case of human stupidity... I have not been following hte case too closely but essentialy the newspapper feels that google should be paying them for the content that google is showing hte story and linking ot thier website in sevral ways including google cache and news. So Essentialy its just stupid and google should win out on this one.

Google is actualy generating trafic for them at no cost and they are not even advertising on google.

If they are siting the source i dont see the problem here. They are not stealing the content if they are sharing the information and sending them to links. I dont get where the problem is.

its old tech meets new tech, the artical sums it up with

The clash between old and new media was played out in their respective arenas. “Hats off to the Belgians” headlined French newspaper Libération while website Techdirt led with “Google hoping someone in Belgium recognizes how the Internet works”.

I would have to agree with you on this palefrost. I'm not sure I am seeing a problem with this. Wonder how it will all turn out in the end. I'm sure with the computer age becoming bigger and bigger we will see alot more of these types of lawsuits.

Its simply misunderstanding they are treating it as if it was a printed document like a newspapper copying a artical in another papper
