View Full Version : More Human Stupidity: Apple Goes After “Podcasts”
Last month, Apple’s legal team went after anyone using the word “pod” in their name. This month, Apple is after people using the word “podcast” in their names. Honestly this is getting out of hand now...
Now that Apple's lawyers have scared the pants off of small entrepreneurs selling products like the Profit Pod and TightPod -- items that have nothing to with portable audio in any way, mind you -- it seems that the next targets are companies that have the audacity to use the word "podcast" in their names.

You know, I think Apple is going to get itself into trouble with this. Didn't they learn their lesson when they got started? There's a reason why most people have a PC instead of an Apple... Stop being a bunch of stingy jerks!

What do you mean by that? i honestly dont think they are being stingy i think its about the fact that they want to monopolize marketing with the word pod.

So...are supermarkets going to have to stop selling peapods now? And will the Star Wars franchise have to modify the name of the "pod-racers"? Seriously, eesh. Apple should be happy that the iPod has become so engrained in pop culture that it is spawning new words, like podcast.
I don't see Google trying to restrict the use of the verb "googling."

Oh wow, I guess I should pay more attention. What is with companies these days?! I always thought it was good if a product became a sort of default. For example, many people ask for a Kleenex (instead of a tissue) or a Q-tip (instead of cotton swab).
