I first saw one of these on a 20/20 special about weight loss where a doctor at the Mayo Clinic had one and walked at 1mph while working at his desk. He had discovered the reason why people are overweight is, no suprise, they do less activity than people who are of normal weight.

Definatley an interesting concept.

I had never even heard of this. It does seem like a good idea though.

Yeah I just don't know if I could work effectively if I was walking all day long. I am lazy that way!

That's not such a bad idea. I dont know if the laptop is practical as your running on the treadmill. I guess you could read email or other material but to type. I dont know if i could do that and run in place. I do like the idea though. I find it easier to work out when i dont realize i am. :D

I dunno about this... I'm super uncoordinated. I'd probably fall and hit my face on the keyboard. I don't think this would work for many people.

Or am I just hoping that I'm not THAT much less coordinated than everybody else?

It wouldnt work for everything but reading documents like a book would work. I love watching tv and working out so this might be nice to get something work related done.

Yeah, this is of dubious value to anyone who actually has to type or do anything precise with the mouse.

I would like to try a stand-up desk, although I'm pretty sure that I'd want a stool for backup.

I have actually heard of this, I think it was a story on CNN.com a few months ago. I am highly doubtful that I am coordinated enough to walk and type/use a mouse at the same time, I think I'd fall.

I also saw this guy's "setup" on tv (basically a treadmill and a unique computer desk, if this is the same guy), and it looked a bit uncomfortable.

I'm with karenlyn on this one, i totaly lack coordination! If you want to get excersize at your desk, maybe someone should invent a pedal-powerd computer or TV.

How about the geek-a-cycle (http://www.coolest-gadgets.com/20060928/unique-exercising-office-chairs/) :)

LOL... perfect! Now you just need to turn that chair into a generator & you can run your office off the power! *whip*

I like that idea as well but i dont like the look of the desk. It would be cool to have an exercise feature you could use while you were idle and needed a stretch. I wouldnt want it to be the focus of the desk though.

That is exactly what I need there! I be using the computer for many hours and I should check this one out.
