My daughter wants one of those iPhones that she sees all the kids using at her school. I don't think it is worth it to buy her an expensive phone when she won't even use all of the functions that it has to offer. She is 17, and is in college, what do you think?

It is pretty hard to say, especially with kids today in school facing peer pressure.

She may not be using all the technical functionality, yet it's something she will use to be able to show-off. Honestly, this is quite sensitive, so it depends on how you understand her.

why not use hiphone cheap and with strong functions most important is that it's easy to learn if your daught won't say nobody will know that's hiphone
